Structural components
The structural design of the spray tower varies according to the
type, flow rate and concentration of the gas to be treated, but it
generally contains the following main parts:
(1) Tower body: Generally made of pp or stainless steel, with a
round or square shape. Inside the tower body, there are usually
fillers, nozzles or filler layers to increase the gas-liquid
contact area.
(2) Nozzle: Used to atomise the liquid and spray it into the path
of the exhaust gas flow. The design of the nozzle affects the size
and distribution of the liquid droplets and thus the gas-liquid
contact effect.
(3) Liquid Circulation System: Includes liquid supply pumps,
piping, level control and other devices used to provide treatment
fluid (e.g., water or chemical solution) to the spray tower.
(4) Gas import and export: the waste gas enters the tower through
the air inlet, and the purified gas is discharged from the top of
the tower.
Wastewater discharge system: The treated wastewater is discharged
from the bottom of the tower and discharged or recycled after
necessary treatment.
(5) Packing layer (optional): Some spray towers are equipped with
packing layer inside to increase the gas-liquid contact area and
enhance the purification effect.
